Dear Fair Haven Area Business Owner,

 

We hope everyone is gearing up for the best year ever here in Fair Haven! For many, this season will start early, with an influx of visitors expected to descend upon the area for the April 8 total solar eclipse, which will travel directly over us. Businesses and cottages are opening early in anticipation of this, and we hope it sets the stage for a successful season ahead for all of us.

 

As a supporter of the Fair Haven Area Chamber of Commerce in the past, we know you recognize the value in networking with other area business owners. To promote our members, we have created a NEW Fair Haven Chamber Of Commerce sticker that you can proudly display on your business entrance door. 

 

If you have not renewed your membership for 2024 yet or would like to become a new member, please fill out the membership application that I have attached. If you need an invoice, please let me know and I’ll send you one.

 

Our Events Committee is already busy planning a year’s worth of events (see list below), and we would love to encourage our members to participate in as many events as they are able.

 

Our first event of the year is the Founder’s Day Dance, which will take place on Fri., March 22 at Sabin Hall at Fair Haven Beach State Park. This event was born last year as a community-giveback event to celebrate the end of winter and to thank our "locals" who support our businesses all winter long (replacing the Winter Festival Dance from years past). The dance will take place from 7-10 p.m., and the Chamber of Commerce encourages our members to offer a “Founder’s Day Specials” this day, if you are able. Perhaps a pre-dance dinner special, or after-dance drink specials. We would love to have your business represented at this event with a donation to our raffle fundraisers. Prizes large and small, gift baskets, gift certificates, or other donations would be greatly appreciated. Donations may be dropped off at Main Street Emporium before March 22.

 

Other events being planned include;

 

·      Annual Spring Fling social event for our members and people interested in learning more about our Chamber of Commerce. This will take place on April 30 at Pleasant Beach Hotel. Members will receive a free drink coupon. Look for your invitation soon. 

·      Our popular May Fest and Color Run will happen on Sat., May 18. 

·      Springbrook Greens will again host our Chamber Golf Tournament fundraiser in June (date TBA). 

·      The biggest weekend of the summer, of course, is SOFA’s Fourth of July Celebration, which will happen this year July 4-7. 

·      The widely popular Porchfest will take place on August 11. 

·      Pirate’s Fest (featuring Captain Jack Sparrow) is being planned for August 24. 

·      A relatively new event called “Third Fridays” is also being organized by Fair Haven businesses, encouraging participating businesses to stay open late or offer specials on the third Friday evening of every month, hoping to bring more people into the village on a regular basis. 

 

All of these events provide opportunities for our member businesses to “piggy-back” with their own specials during the events. Look for more details to follow.

 

Our next Chamber meeting will take place on April 2 at 6 p.m., at the Fair Haven Community Center (American Legion) on Lake Street. We encourage all members, past and present, to attend. We look forward to a successful season with you on board!
